Flatter Your Figure - Swimsuit Tips from Diane’s Beachwear

I was just browsing around for some new beachwear, when I stumbled upon the “Flatter Your Figure” section on the website for Diane’s Beachwear.  I’ve always loved this shop, but I am even happier to see that they’ve given women tips for flattering a full bust, small bust, midsection, full hips and thighs, full bum, small bum, short torso, and long torso.

I’ve included their tips for flattering a full bust, but you can check out their website for all the details.  They even give you brands that work best for your body type.  Love it!

FULL BUST

Extra support and some sexy cleavage is the aim of the game!  Halter bikinis are a great way to give you some lift and allow you to make adjustments for personal fit.  Also look for underwire tops that add extra support.

Best Brands:
Swim Systems
Sunsets
Moontide
Vix
Body Glove
Betsey Johnson

We all know the importance of wearing sun block and covering up when the sun is blazing, but so many of us look ridiculous in hats or just flat out don’t like wearing them.  What do you do?  End up with premature aging or skin cancer?  No, that is certainly not what you want!  Opt instead for one of these great straw hats to look fashionable in the sunshine.

Worth & Worth have been around since 1922 and truly make the finest quality hats.  Check out their website www.hatshop.comfor their full collection.  I’m sure you’ll be able to find one you love.

Lola is another fabulous brand that is available at stores such as Intermix and Saks.  All of their hats have a little something extra in terms of design.  They won’t just give you a fedora or cloche.  They’ll give you one with the most interesting details that everyone will wonder where you got your hat.

It’s Time to Show Some Skin!

Designers from Nine West and Aldo, to Prada and Dolce & Gabbana are all jumping on the multi color snakeskin bandwagon.  Whether you choose a few bangles, a strappy pair of sandals, or a fabulous clutch, add some of these fun colors to your spring and summer wardrobes.  Obviously a little of these colors go a long way, so moderation is key.  You don’t want to look like Rainbow Bright.  My advice is limit these colors to your accessories and only wear one at a time…i.e.  the clutch, or the sandals, or the bangles, but not all of them at once.

Nellie Partow Racerback Silk Dress - The Perfect Summer Dress

I’m loving this racerback silk dress by Nellie Partow.  It’s got just the right combination of sportiness with the racer-back and femininity with the ruffles and shiny fabric.  What a perfect dress for a hot summer day.  You could layer a bright colored tank underneath, or wear with jeans when it’s a bit cooler.

You can order it online here: http://www.shopnicchia.com/product.asp?name=Silk-Racerback-Dress-Beige&pfid=NIC01049&eng=2

Two Great Spring Looks from Nordstrom

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:40 am

I don’t know if you’ve realized it, but Nordstrom has really increased their branding with the great magazine/catalogue that they now send out every month.  Each issue is perfectly put together and highlights a few of the seasons biggest trends.  And even better, if you like something you see, you can order it online.  Two looks from their latest issue caught my eye.

This gorgeous tie front blouse is the perfect combination of feminine and retro.  The geometric print is perfect for someone with softer coloring who can’t wear all of the crazy prints we are currently seeing.  You will be sure to look on trend without looking like your blouse is wearing you.  The bright blue belt also adds a great extra pop of color.

The next look I love is this bright yellow Grecian dress with it’s contrasting pink sash belt.  There is something so feminine about the way this dress blouses and drapes over the body.  It’s also fabulous for covering up and unwanted lumps or bumps.  All that drapey fabric hides everything.

Both looks have a slouchy sexiness to them.  Perfect for spring when you want to look feminine and sexy, without looking too overtly sex kitten.

AICI Conference

Posted in Uncategorized at 3:33 pm

I am going to be in Minneapolis for the annual conference of the Association of Image Consultants International. While there, I will be taking an exam for my next level of certification, taking workshops by industry leaders, learning a ton, and meeting image consultants from all over the world. It will be an intense few days, but well worth it.

Forgive me if I don’t update my blog too much while I’m away. We will be going from 7am - 10pm and I’m not sure how much access there will be to computers. I’ll be back on the 22nd of May with all the updates.

Enjoy the rest of your week!
