Quick Tips for Slimming Your Silhouette
Cut the pockets out of your jeans or pants and sew them shut. This removes any extra bulges and bumps that the pocket lining creates and smoothes any gaps at the pocket opening. This slims the leg in an instant.
Take the belt loops off of your pants. If you always wear a shirt over the top of your pants, take the belt loops off the pants to create a slimmer waistline. No more extra bumps around the waist.
Sew in extra snaps between the buttons of your blouse. If you always get that pulling and gaping in between the buttons of your blouses, sew in baby snaps in between the buttons. No one will see them and your shirt will stay closed and smooth.
Taper the sleeve of your long sleeve shirts and jackets. When the arm of a shirt or jacket is narrowed at the wrist, the entire arm appears slimmer. Extra blousy material on a jacket or shirt just adds bulk.
Make sure all your clothes skim, not hug your body. Skim means that the material gives the general silhouette of your body instead of hugging so tightly that every lump or bump is magnified. At the same time you don’t want to wear anything too oversized either. Ride your curves, don’t hide your curves.
